Arriving at road.cc in 2017 via 220 Triathlon Magazine, Jack dipped his toe in most jobs on the site and over at eBikeTips before being named the new editor of road.cc in 2020, much to his surprise. His cycling life began during his students days, when he cobbled together a few hundred quid off the back of a hard winter selling hats (long story) and bought his first road bike - a Trek 1.1 that was quickly relegated to winter steed, before it was sadly pinched a few years later. Creatively replacing it with a Trek 1.2, Jack mostly rides this bike around local cycle paths nowadays, but when he wants to get the racer out and be competitive his preferred events are time trials, sportives, triathlons and pogo sticking - the latter being another long story.

Excellent! It's encouraging to see people win prizes!!
My crazy feet did well in my 5 year old Lake CX241's but should be even better in the new model, CX 242. Thanks Santa Spouse!

My gift from Santa Claus - 256 pages pictures album "Bicycling through time". From first hobby-horse bikes to 1945. Some bikes seems very interesting. Bike for two, but only the same weight. Or something like ... Ceramic Speed gears. And all bicycles are for gravel, thinking about roads 100 years ago

Just one cycling related gift for me this year - some hex keys. As recommended by a one-time prolific poster of this parish. Kinda feels like cheating on Park Tool, but hopefully the other hex keys won't find out.
My wife got this Gettin' Squirrelly calendar from her Mum.
I'm jealous of that now.
I got given an Evil Cycling Lobby Lifetime Member Hoody with the print on the back: https://evilcyclelobby.teemill.com/product/ecl-mens-fit-hoodie-with-lifetime-member-print-on-rear/

oh bloody hell, another spray can of Muc Off Bike.protect
The better half got me this. She loves me very much. At least the forth item over several years...
And some deep winter POC gloves awhile back.
I didn't get any cycling gifts this year
Trust me, non-cycling Santa is pretty useless.
